How are you?

Familiar questions, familiar answers.
I decided that if I hear this question
then I will answer honestly.
That's the only way that makes sense.
I think the most natural "How are you?" state
is the one when you wake up in the morning
and you are not yet under control, no make-up,
you still haven't pulled yourself together,
you haven't yet thought anything through
you don't know whether you have emerged from sleep yet
and arrived in the waking state.

I have photographed hundreds of awakenings.
allowing me to peer into my own and others'
waking and living.

So how am I?
